Tool Machinist

The individual who functions in this position must carry out all of the functions associated with being a Tool Machinist after a sufficient period of training by an experienced Hendrick Machinist:
- Lay out, fit and assemble tools where necessary
- Disassemble tools and diagnose tool problems and repair as required
- Make bending and forming tools
- Make jigs and fixtures as required
- Possess the ability to operate the following equipment including, but not limited to Drill Press, Grinders, Lathes, Milling Machines and Centerless Grinders
- Perform building maintenance , when such work is performed in conjunction with equipment maintenance, relocation and instillation
- Perform all other duties and assignments as required including those required upon reassignment or transfer and regardless of whether the duties assigned are included within or related to his/her normal duties.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equlavent
- Two years of vocation technical training with certification in machining or equivalent work experience
- Requires the ability to read a ruler, set calipers, read blue prints, micrometer and all gauges and measuring devices
- Performs work independent of supervision
- Requires ability to lift 60 lbs. unassisted; 80 lbs. assisted
- Standing for extended periods of time to a maximum of 8 hours
- Stooping, bending, and stretching as necessary
- Required good hand to eye coordination
