Job Description:

The ideal candidate for this position will be a hands-on Quality partner with experience working daily on a manufacturing/production floor and with all levels of production and management staff. He/She will also ideally have a proven track record of coaching and counseling employees and supervisors on quality concerns and working in cross functional teams to ensure customers receive the highest quality product possible.

This position encompasses responsibility for the design and implementation of the quality procedures and policies of the company. The primary responsibility of the individual in this position is to ensure that proper procedures are in place to consistently and effectively adhere to strict quality standards relative to both the company and the customer. To qualify as a Quality Assurance Manager an individual must be able to perform all of the following:

    Perform hands on regular quality audits with all needed follow up and documentation
    Design all process control procedures by department to consistent performance in production and delivery of products
    Train or assist in the training of all personnel in proper performance of duties to be consistent with established quality procedures
    Develop quality trend reporting data to enable individuals suggest or implement continuous improvement opportunities
    Report on a monthly basis all quality trends and problems
    Develop and/or maintain programs that promote communication of quality standards and problem solving through employee training
    Monitor and survey the quality of incoming purchased materials and recommend quality improvements
    Audit current quality systems to assess their effectiveness and accuracy
    Maintain Quality Manual and related process documents to conform with latest ISO9000 standards
    Establish procedures to monitor and survey vendor and subcontractor performance. Assist in performing audits and surveys of vendor's performance
    Assist as needed in process/engineering problem solving
    Perform all other duties and assignments as required including those when reassigned or transferred and regardless of whether duties are related to his/her normal duties


    Strong leadership skills
    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related four-year degree, or equivalent experience
    Knowledge of and experience with Lean Manufacturing principals as applied in a manufacturing environment
    Ability to work with minimal oversight, high personal accountability
    Requires ability to read, understand, and interpret blue prints and shop drawings
    Requires ability to read, understand, and interpret quality measurement data
    Requires ability to use personal computer and various measuring devices



    2+ years in a managerial/leadership position in the quality field
    5+ years progressive experience in quality control in a heavy manufacturing environment
    5+ years of direct involvement in implementing Lean processes
